Please refer to the Brown Graduate School's page on Language Requirements. MCBGP has no additional language requirements.

Yes, but you must provide an official transcript by the time of matriculation. See more information on the Brown Graduate School's website.

The MCBGP does not require the GRE for admission and does not consider GRE scores in evaluating applications.

We require three letters of recommendation (and you may submit up to five letters). It is important to identify people who can provide you with strong letters of recommendation that will help us evaluate your potential to benefit from our training program.  Letters from faculty members and/ or scientific group leaders who you have worked with on a research project and who can address your specific strengths (and areas for future growth) as a researcher are particularly helpful. Letters from course instructors who helped you to learn critical thinking and/or scientific communication skills, or how to read/discuss the primary literature are also helpful. We also welcome letters that can attest to your leadership potential and/or your ability to overcome adversity to reach your goals.

No, but we encourage you to familiarize yourself with our faculty trainers, and you are welcome to contact faculty trainers whose work interests you. We suggest that you identify 2-3 potential thesis advisors (or research programs of interest) in your application.

Please refer to the Brown Graduate School's page for International applicants.

The MCBGP ensures that all of our students receive financial support.

Time to completion is dependent on each individual student's progress. The average time to degree is approximately 5.5 years.

Yes, but probably not until after passing your qualifying exam. The Open Graduate Education Program application process is competitive.
